KEA Announcement
25 January 2012
In order to improve our customer experience, KEA has decided to scale down its operations in Australia to ensure a high standard of customer service across all our depots. We believe that this strategy of concentrating our resources will enable us to retain, and further enhance our reputation for providing great holidays to our customers.
The changes for new bookings will be effective from March 31st 2012, with final closures matched to existing bookings. All existing bookings will be honoured, and we will ensure that the transition is as seamless as possible.
As part of the changes we are proud to announce the introduction of an exciting range of new vehicles and depot refurbishments over the next twelve months.
The Melbourne, Adelaide, Broome & Alice Springs depots will cease operating as KEA depots and the future depot structure is as follows: Perth will continue to operate with its own fleet, with back to base rentals for all vehicle types, from our current location. Cairns will continue to operate normally as part of an East Coast only model. The depot will relocate to a new location early 2012. Brisbane will continue to operate normally as part of an East Coast only model. Sydney continues to operate normally as part of an East Coast only model, and Darwin will operate as a back to base four wheel drive option only with no motorhomes or campervans available.
